Percussionist Andrew Wert is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and holds a Bachelors of Music in Commercial Music & Jazz Studies from Liberty University. His teachers include Matthew Davis, Dr. Kevin Super, and Jay Ware.While at Liberty, Andrew was named Junior Percussionist of the Year. As a member of the Liberty University School of Music’s flagship House Band, he performed alongside artists including Dove Award Winner Michael Neale, Bob Hope Award Winner Steve Amerson, and Laurie Gayle Stephenson. He has spent the last two years as the percussionist for the Alluvion Stage Company and maintains an active performance schedule as the drummer for Flat Five Jazz, the bandleader for the Hill City Jazz Quartet, a sub percussionist for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, and many local artists and theaters. In addition to being an active performer, Andrew teaches a private studio of young percussionists and has served as the music director for several local musical theater programs including Rustburg High School and the Academy Center of the Arts. Andrew currently resides in Lynchburg, Virginia.
